Rasinger: Telekom Delisting Would Be Terrible Blow for Stock Market

A delisting of Telekom Austria (TA) from Vienna Stock Exchange would be a terrible blow for the stock market and bad for Austria’s economy as such, investor representative Wilhelm Rasinger told WirtschaftsBlatt daily, commenting on rumours according to which TA’s majority sharehoder America Movil was pondering such a move for TA.

Telekom IV Trial: Conviction of Hochegger for Fraud Confirmed

The High Court in Austrian (OGH) confirmed the conviction of lobbyist Peter Hochegger for fraud in the Telekom IV trial. The trial concerned payments made by Telekom Austria against bogus invoices to two advertising agencies with ties to rightwing party Alliance for the Future of Austria (BZÖ, Bundnis Zukunft Osterreich). The original ruling was thus confirmed. The twoyear prison sentence has been revoked though, as the court ordered the reopening of another case concerning Hochegger’s alleged false testimony.

Vip mobile, the Serbian subsidiary of Telekom Austria, has bought mobile frequencies for EUR 35 million. Vip mobile will use 2 x 5 MHz in the 800MHz range to introduce the new mobile telephony standard LTE, Telekom Austria announced at its homepage.

Telekom Austria Opens New Logistics Centre in Hagenbrunn

Communication service provider A1 has opened a new logistics centre in Hagenbrunn (district Korneuburg). The centre will replace numerous former warehouses among others at Perfektastraße in Vienna-Liesing as central distribution centre. 150 employees have been transferred.

Vipnet, a Croatian subsidiary of partially state-owned Telekom Austria, has purchased radio frequencies in Croatia for EUR 18.6 million (USD 19.84 million). The company obtained 2 x 3 MHz and 2 x 4.8 MHz in the 1800 MHz range Telekom Austria announced on its homepage.

Telekom Austria announces that its Supervisory Board has allocated the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities to Alejandro Plater (47) as proposed by the two majority shareholders América Móvil and Österreichische Bundes- und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (ÖBIB). This appointment will be effective as of 1 August 2015.

The Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) announces that its Supervisory Board today has allocated the Chief Executive Officer responsibilities of Telekom Austria AG to Alejandro Plater (47) as proposed by the two majority shareholders América Móvil and Österreichische Bundes- und Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (ÖBIB). This appointment will be effective as of 1 August 2015. His contract period remains unchanged and runs until March 2018 with an option for a two year prolongation. As of August 2015 he Management Board of Telekom Austria Group will consist of the two members Alejandro Plater and Siegfried Mayrhofer.
