Listed telco Telekom Austria, a unit of America Movil, saw its share price jump by 5.11 percent to EUR 5.57 shortly after Thursday session open, on the back of Q1 result publication as revenues and EBITDA were slightly above market expectations, UBS analysts wrote in a flash comment. Also the outlook was confirmed.

The association of private broadcasters in Austria, Verband Österreichischer Privatsender (VÖP) is considering legal measures against A1 now, the new streaming offer provided by Telekom Austria. Partly state-owned listed telco Telekom Austria, a unit of America Movil, turned to EUR 392.8 million (USD 439.4 million) net profit in 2015, in line with market expectations and better than EUR 185.4 million net loss in 2014, the company said in an ad hoc statement.

Telekom Austria - Analysts Predict Return to Black

Austrian analysts expect that the annual financial report of Telekom Austria, to be published tomorrow, will show positive results. For 2014 losses were recorded. Again sales should have remained stable. The average sales figure for 2015 predicted by the analysts from Barclays, Credit Suisse, Erste Group and Raiffeisen Centrobank (RCB) is EUR 3.99 billion. This would mean a 1 percent drop, compared to 2014.
