Grasser Appeals Against Corruption Charges

Former Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser (FPÖ/ÖVP) is defending against charges of corruption with regard to the privatization of federal housing facilities and the Linz-based Terminal Tower. Grasser’s lawyer Manfred Ainedter announced that he would appeal against the charges laid down by the prosecution.

News magazine "profil" has published the names of 166 witnesses in a huge lawsuit concerning a privatization project and the Linz-based Terminal Tower. The witnesses include former finance minister and industrialist Hannes Androsch, current Sberbank banker Gerhard Randa and former supervisory board member of Immofinance Guido Schmidt-Chiari, as well as banker Julius Meinl.

Telekom Austria Paid for Private Jet Flight of Former Finance Minister

News magazine "profil” claims in its weekend issue that back in 2004 Telekom Austria paid for a private jet flight of former Finance Minister Karl Heinz Grasser and his advisor and friend Walter Meischberger. Also former Telekom manager Rudolf Fischer and property investor Ernst Karl Plech had allegedly joined the group.
