Porr to Pay Shareholders Special Dividend

Listed constructino group Porr AG wants to pay shareholders a dividend of EUR 1 per share and a special dividend of EU 0.50 per share from profit earned in 2015. Porr will be the first company in Austria to apply a Scrip Dividend, once the shareholders approve it on 24 May, it was announced. The company quotes the successful split and divestment of the property development arm last year as a reason for the dividend.

Linz-Based Unit of Bilfinger Delivers EUR 10 Mln Pipe System to Egypt

Bilfinger VAM, a Linz-based unit of German construction firm, will enjoy a capacity utilisation until autumn thanks to the contract for a pipe system in Egypt, the company said. The firm shares the EUR 10 million (USD 11.3 million) deal with another Bilfinger unit.

A consortium consisting of Austrian construction group Strabag and Croatian industrial company Končar has been awarded the contract to build the Vranduk power plant on the river Bosna on behalf of energy supply company JP Elektroprivreda BiH.

German DIY Chain OBI Acquires Baumax for EUR 200 Million

Ailing DIY chain Baumax was sold to German DIY chain OBI and Graz real-estate developer Supernova, Kurier daily and Kronen Zeitung reported. The sale was fixed contractually on Friday. The volume of the deal has been estimated at nearly EUR 200 million by Kurier.

Strabag Wins Road Deal in Poland for € 118 Million

Listed builder Strabag won a EUR 118 million (USD 135.4 million) contract in Poland for the construction of a 15 km motorway section between Woźniki and Pyrzowice plus one motorway maintenance facility, two rest stops, 29 bridges and wildlife crossings. Completion is supposed to take place in mid-2018.
