Yesterday, Sberbank, the largest bank in Russia and CIS, announced in a press release that it had redeemed the first RUB 200 bn tranche of the RUB 500 bn subordinated loan from the Central Bank of Russia. As a reminder, the lender received the loan in Q4 2008 within the scope of government measures to support systemically important banks.
