Rising Cash Holdings at Austrian Companies
According to a study by PwC, Austrian leading companies record higher cash holdings for security reasons.
After the economic crisis in 2008/09, Austrian companies recognized the importance of liquid assets. The favorable order situation in 2010 and 2011 led to an increase in cash holdings. At the end of 2011, cash holdings soared to € 8.255bn, PricewaterhouseCoopers said. Austrian leading companies seem to fear another economic slump in the second half of 2012.
