As reported by FriedlNews, the chairman of the supervisory board is Herbert Walter, the former CEO of Dresdner Bank AG.

There are only five instead of six executive directors.

Finance Minister Michael Spindelegger (ÖVP), representing the sole owner, the Republic of Austria, expects the new team to "professionalize and depoliticize the Hypo board" as he announced in a press release on Friday.

Already on Tuesday, the contracts with the former Supervisory Board members had surprisingly been resolved.

The board has been reduced in size from six to five members.
In the fall, Hypo will be transferred into a firm in liquidation. The sale of the Balkan subsidiaries is currently in process.

The new Supervisory Board members are:

Herbert Walter, former CEO of Dresdner Bank AG.
Wolfgang Hartmann, previously Chief Risk Officer with Commerzbank AG.
Alois Hochegger, former Executive Director of Kärntner Sparkasse.
Regina Friedrich, former Managing Director of an international freight forwarding company in Graz.
Christine Sumper-Billinger, Director of the Federal Data Center.
