European Startups in Vienna: Entering a New Age of Pioneering

From October 29th startups will compete for the attention of investors and companies in Vienna. The application for the Pioneers Challenge has just begun. Start-ups have no easy job to enthuse investors for their ideas. But Vienna offers one of the best ways to do just that: During the Pioneers Festival in late October young companies can secure the attention of potential donors and inspire other companies and media for their innovations.

Recently, the application period for the much sought after startup program of the Pioneers Festival has begun, which has become a fixed event for the European Entrepeneur scene.

Of special interest is the Pioneers Challenge, an international competition in which at the end a start-up from more than 1000 applications will be selected.

In the previous year the Croatian company Bellabeat (formerly Baby Watch) managed to get choosen. The company has developed a system for measuring the heartbeats of babies via smartphone. Bellabeat-founder Urska Srsen has recently been able to secure USD 4.5 million from major U.S. investors. Bellabeat is considered to be one of the most aspiring start-ups in Silicon Valley.
