Baxter Enlarges Viennese Site
The U.S. pharmaceutical group makes investments of € 30m in Vienna. The start of operation of a new production facility is planned in 2014.
This week, Baxter initiated the construction of a new production facility in Vienna. By 2014, Baxter plans to produce biological glue for medical purposes. The investment volume reaches € 30m, Baxter said. The production site will be started up by end-2014.
In 2011, Baxter made investments of € 47m in Austria. This year, the investment volume should total € 100m. The U.S. pharmaceutical group currently employs 4,100 persons in Austria. Last year, the staff number rose by 116 employees. Since 1996, Baxter has been operating in Austria after Immuno AG had been taken over.
