Once again the unemployment rate in Austria saw a significant rise. More than 440,000 persons were registered jobsless in February.

In February the number of jobless persons and those in training increased by 36,837 to a total number of 44,843 which was an annual increase around 9.1 percent. The number of registered unemployed increased by 30,344 to 356,745 while the number of persons in training increased by 8.4 percent to a total of 84,098.
