The Austrian industrial plant manufacturer based in Graz reports an order for € 40m from the Portuguese power company EDP.

The stock exchange listed Andritz group has secured an order from the Portuguese electricity group Electricidade de Portugal (EDP). The job is taken over by the Hydro Division. The contract is for the supply of the electromechanical equipment for two hydroelectric power plants in the region of Porto, to go into service in 2014.

Andritz operates in a consortium and therefore divides the order with a local company. The customer wishes for the highest possible Portuguese value added. The Portuguese EFACEC Engenharia SA is responsible for making the local contacts as well as for local supplies and services. Andritz manufactures the turbines, generators, steel hydraulic equipment and supervising control systems for the project.

"The total contract volume amounts to over 40 million euro, approximately half of which go to our partner", say sources from Andritz.
