A-Tec: Coal Power Plant Will Not Be Converted
The insolvent company pulls back from its request to convert the Styrian power plant Voitsberg III. The total investment would have amounted to € 100m.

In 2006, the steam power plant, which was lignite-operated until then, was abandoned, but would have been converted to coal for € 100m, according to the plans of A-Tec’s CEO Mirko Kovats The application has now been withdrawn. According to Kovats, a biomass center should have been built next to the power plant, but this project had to be abandoned soon.
